Right shoulder MRI, also known as MRI of the clavicle, produces clear and detailed images of structures and tissues within the right shoulder joint, including tendons, bones, muscles, and vessels from all angles. MRI, an acronym for magnetic resonance imaging, is a non-invasive imaging test used for diagnosis of medical conditions. MRI works through powerful radio waves and magnetic fields to produce high-definition images of the internal body structures. Radiation is not used in x-rays.
Right shoulder MRI helps with examination of the right shoulder joint. It provides a clear view of rotator cuff tears, biceps tendon injuries, and glenoid labrum damage.
The procedure is completed in 15-45 minutes. You will lie on a scanning table, and the table slides into the magnetic field of the MRI machine using a remote device. Coils will be placed around your right shoulder to improve image quality. The imaging test will be done and sent to your doctor for analysis and possible treatment (if any abnormalities are detected).
